Part of the Midnight Movies series, The Tingler follows Dr. Warren Chapin (Vincent Price), who conducts autopsies on executed prisoners and deduces that a spine-dwelling creature is suppressed by the human scream. He gives LSD to a deaf and mute woman and creates a nightmare in an attempt to lure the creature. The film was directed by William Castle and features the Percepto gimmick.
