Jane Campion’s The Piano follows Ada (Holly Hunter) and her daughter, Flora (Anna Paquin), after an arranged marriage takes them to 19th-century New Zealand. Ada becomes involved in conflicts with her controlling husband, Alisdair (Sam Neill), and a frontiersman, George (Harvey Keitel), to whom she develops a forbidden attraction. Campion became the first woman to win the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for the film in 1993. This screening features a new 4K restoration, with a remastered 5.1 audio mix.
