About this event
This free in-person symposium at the Parthenon on February 9 at 6 p.m. Central features sculptor Alan Le Quire discussing the creation of Nashville’s Athena Parthenos statue. Le Quire will reflect on the eight-year project, which involved research, consultation with archaeologists, engineering, modeling and casting, with gilding and painting completed later. The talk is held in conjunction with “Goddess in Progress,” an exhibit documenting the statue’s creation through large-scale photographs. Eventbrite RSVP is required.
