The Longest Johns are a folk group from Bristol, formed in 2012 around a shared interest in maritime folk music, songwriting, digital culture and humor. Their music combines traditional sea shanties and work songs with driving folk-rock and original material. The trio—Jonathan “JD” Darley, Andy Yates and Robbie Sattin—had a viral hit with their rendition of “Wellerman” in 2021. Their latest album, Ends of the Earth, explores subjects including 18th-century crimes and wilderness monsters. They perform at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville.
