This retrospective features paintings, sketches, and other works by Tennessee artist David Wright. Known for historically researched depictions of the American frontier, Wright’s work portrays the experiences of frontiersmen and Native Americans, as well as Civil War subjects informed by his service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. The exhibition also includes some of the costumes, weapons, and other objects Wright referenced in creating his art. Wright was born in Kentucky, raised in Tennessee, and studied art in Europe.
