Guest instructor Sarah Cihat leads this beginner-to-intermediate, two-part workshop on creating a one-part plaster mold and slip-casting ceramic forms. Sessions run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Slip Ceramics in East Nashville. Participants will learn mold design, plaster mixing and pouring, demolding, slip casting, greenware finishing, and studio firing. The $195 fee includes materials, casting slip, tool use, and bisque and clear-glaze firings. Participants should bring a nonporous master object no larger than 4 by 7 by 5 inches. Suitable materials include glass, hard plastic, glazed ceramic, sealed metal, and hard rubber. Objects must not have undercuts; raw wood, plaster, unglazed clay, soft silicone, and heavily ridged 3D prints should be avoided.
