The First Stage is an initiative presenting new works for the stage through concerts that combine songwriting, theater, and music. The program includes Fetching Water, with book and lyrics by Leslie Becker and music by Michael Hunsaker. The comedy follows Jack, Jill, Dick, and Jane as adult characters confronting innocence lost and found. It also features Yeti or Not: A Bigfoot Musical, by Brandon Marks, Sean Richards, and Derek Hughes, with additional material by Abby Nelson. The musical follows Henry Clark as he leaves the city to investigate Bigfoot and reckon with grief, fatherhood, and his relationship with his late father.
