Fall migration bird banding takes place at the long-term Warner Park Nature Center banding station, which has operated since 1982. Trained, federally licensed researchers and volunteers capture, identify, measure, band with unique numbered aluminum leg bands, and release wild birds. The data supports research on bird populations, migration, and the importance of Warner Parks for birds. Registration is not required for families or individuals. Organized groups should email wpnc@nashville.gov. The event is led by the BIRD Team.
