Pianist and composer Melvin Macias leads an Afro-Cuban jazz quintet performing original compositions and arrangements that combine Cuban musical traditions with jazz. The repertoire includes Puerto Rican plenas, jazz ballads and Brazilian partido alto. The group features Macias on piano, Bryan Meggison on saxophone, Walter Rodriguez on drums, Yosvany Cordero on congas and Marlon Randy on bass.
