Event details
The exhibition explores the art and culture of the Mughal court during its golden age, about 1560–1660, under the reigns of Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan. It features paintings, jewelry, carpets, metalwork, mother-of-pearl vessels, and architectural elements, highlighting influences from South Asia, Iran, China, and Europe. The exhibition also examines the Mughal tradition of naturalistic portraiture, depictions of animals, floral designs, and the use of precious materials. It concludes with the legacy of the Great Mughals in India, Pakistan, and beyond. Created by the V&A.
