This in-person Lunch and Learn with Dr. Antoinette G. van Zelm examines how historians and other writers have portrayed Revolutionary-era women who lived within present-day Tennessee between 1770 and 1810. The presentation covers depictions of women as “patriotic mothers” and “unsung heroines,” the expanded attention to Native and African American women, and scholarship on Nan-ye-hi, or Nancy Ward. The program takes place at noon in the Tennessee State Museum’s Digital Learning Center. Boxed lunches are available for purchase for $12.24 and include a sandwich, chips, and a cookie. Orders must be placed by noon on October 13, 2026.
