In Try/Step/Trip, Dahlak Brathwaite draws on his experience navigating the criminal justice system in a performance combining theater, music, spoken word, and movement. A chorus of step dancers explores resilience, memory, survival, identity, and self-definition through Black fraternity stepping and the history of Black American music. Directed by Roberta Uno with choreography by Toran Moore, the piece examines how Black men are seen and represented in society. Artist & Creative Community tickets are $20-$25.
