Beauford Delaney: So Much Love and Beauty examines the artist’s development from 1940s New York to 1960s Paris, placing his work within modernism, the Harlem Renaissance, European expressionism, and abstract expressionism. The exhibition features Delaney’s early New York street scenes, portraits, and abstractions, alongside works by Stuart Davis, Claude Monet, Lawrence Calcagno, Ed Clark, and Sam Francis. Organized by The Phillips Collection and curated by Adrienne L. Childs, it also explores the relationships that supported Delaney’s career.
