The Japanese dance-theater group KEDAGORO presents The Age Is Yours, My Liege! (A Tale of Proto-Japan), directed and choreographed by Reisa Shimojima. The work follows fairytale empresses racing around a giant hamster wheel amid flags, symbols and theatrical imagery. Combining kinetic choreography, surreal staging and humor, it examines how authority is created, why societies follow it and what happens when established systems begin to crumble. This marks the work’s first presentation in the United States.
